Projects

When the Team at Tag1 gets some free time we work on several other projects benefiting Drupal and open source in general. Some projects are inspired by particular challenges we helped a client overcome, and some are just too much fun to pass up. Here's a sampling.

HipHop CentOS RPMs

When working with Examiner.com we were squeezing every microsecond of performance out of Drupal, and still looking for room to improve. Picking up where Facebook's HipHop effort left off, we created custom RPM's for CentOS so we could benchmark Drupal on familiar hardware. Also read Gerhard’s performance analysis and see how the speed compares.

Pressflow Contributions

Pressflow is a high-performance based distribution of Drupal. For years Tag1 helped contribute patches to improve speed and scalability even more. Many of these improvements have made it into Drupal 7's core, further benefiting Drupal users everywhere.

Drupal Watchdog Magazine

Even with many magazines going all digital today, and working with the top CMS available, we decided that print isn't dead. Look for the first issue of the semi-annual Drupal Magazine at Chicago Drupalicon. Subscriptions are now available.

MongoDB Cacti Graphs

While working on Examiner.com we expanded our monitoring setup to include MongoDB, which is used heavily for Examiner's speed and size requirements.

Adbard Network

Tag1's founder Jeremy Andrews started the Adbard Network to server as a high-quality advertising network for the open sourced community.

Drupal Performance Book

While we’ve put updates to our Book on hold while we concentrate on clients, there is still a wealth of great information for anyone wanting to learn about performance and scalability for Drupal websites.
