Janez was first exposed to free software in elementary school and has been passionate about it since. He has been involved with Drupal since his introduction while completing a computer science degree. Between 2010 and 2012 he led the transition to Drupal 7 at one of the biggest publishing companies in Slovenia. After that he joined Examiner.com which was the biggest Drupal website at the time. He started contributing to Drupal 8 early in the release cycle and due to his experience in the publishing industry became active in the media initiative and eventually became its lead.
